Searching for clips in the Clip Gallery (Microsoft Office)

In Microsoft Office you can enhance your work with a variety of pictures. The programs itself provide access to the Microsoft Clip Gallery, a collection of clip art images, sounds and video clips. You can search for content in the Clip Gallery by selecting the appropriate category to display the images in that category. However,

You can search for clips in the Clip Gallery by describing them.

Here's how:

  1. Move the insertion point to the location in which the image is to appear.
  2. Choose the Insert, Picture, Clip Art command.
  3. On the toolbar of the Insert ClipArt dialog box, which is subsequently displayed, click the Search for clips text box.
  4. Enter one or more words, or a phrase, that describe the subject you want (for example, people with computers.
  5. Press ENTER.
  6. Use the scroll bar or the PAGE DOWN and PAGE UP keys to see any clips not visible on the screen.
  7. Click the Keep Looking button at the bottom of the page, if it appears, to see additional clips.
  8. Click on the desired image, and then click on the Insert clip button (the top one) in the list that appears or drag the image from the dialog box to the document.

If you don't find clips you want search again using more or fewer keywords or a more specific keyword.
